Bio
Neil was most recently Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Merrill Lynch Capital. From its founding in 2001 until its sale to GE Capital in 2008, Neil’s responsibilities centered on formulating the company’s strategic direction and leading efforts to identify and execute attractive product extension, market segmentation and acquisition opportunities, which included structuring and managing a $2 billion co-investment program. Neil also managed the company’s finance, accounting, marketing, pricing and recruiting activities and served as primary liaison to Merrill Lynch’s tax, treasury, market risk and human resources functions. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch Capital, Neil was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development at Heller Financial, Inc., where he was instrumental in several successful acquisitions, divestitures and Heller’s sale to GE Capital. During his 11-year tenure at Heller, Neil also held a number of senior finance, capital markets/securitization and operations roles. Neil’s experience includes working as Director of Internal Audit Transamerica Corporation’s commercial and consumer finance businesses. He began his career at Price Waterhouse. Neil earned a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (inactive).
