Bio

Daniel Coppel Co-Founded and is a Venture Partner at LEAP Global Partners, where he helps to identify and invest in top entrepreneurs in Mexico. In addition, he focuses on connecting LEAP portfolio companies to Latin America investors and companies. Daniel is also Head of Koval VC; his family-office venture capital fund and sits on the Innovation and eCommerce boards of Grupo Coppel, Latam’s biggest retail and financial services provider to the underbanked. Daniel has a passion for developing the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem in his native state of Sonora, Mexico. He has founded and directs KOLAB, an Innovation & Sustainability Social Impact Fund. KOLAB has invested and helped built startups like FeX, a placemaking company that created and manages Parque La Ruina, a cultural and social hot spot in the city of Hermosillo, HOVER a Venture Builder, that has played an important role in the soft landing of Dev.f Hermosillo, a KOLAB portfolio company that is one of Latams leading and fastest growing EdTech platform. Daniel enjoys the outdoors specially the sea of Cortez and its surrounding locations, where he and his family are big supporters of local communities and conservation efforts. Daniel Graduated from Tec de Monterrey with a Degree in Entrepreneurship.
