Has over 10 years of private equity experience. From 1991 to 2003 was with another Chicago-based private equity fund that was founded in the mid-1980’s. Since 1993, has had direct responsibility for the full spectrum of venture capital and private equity investment management including capital formation, generation of investment opportunities, transaction processing, due diligence, portfolio management and investment exits. Has investment and board level experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, communications, healthcare and retail services. From 1986 to 1990, was a Marketing Representative in the Corporate Banking department of The Bank of Nova Scotia where he marketed and structured leveraged buyout and acquisition financings. Successfully marketed the Bank’s leveraged lending capabilities, conducted industry and company due diligence, structured and closed transactions and managed a USD 500 million portfolio. From 1983 to 1985, was a Financial Analyst in the Commercial Banking department of Comerica Bank. MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (1991) and BA in economics from Kalamazoo College (1983).
