Robert Parker

Bio

Mr. Robert Parker is a founder and Chairman of Parker Price Venture Capital, Inc. and its predecessor, Allegro Capital, Inc. He is the only American businessman ever awarded Taiwan's highest civilian decoration, the Order of the Brilliant Star. Mr. Parker is a trustee and former chairman of the Taiwan Greater China Fund, a NYSE-listed mutual fund investing in Taiwan public companies doing business in China. He is an honors graduate of the University of Texas-Austin and the University of Texas Law School. He was awarded a Rotary International Fellowship for graduate study in international relations at the University of Sydney, Australia. He enjoyed a distinguished career as an international business lawyer before becoming Chairman of Parker Price Venture Capital. In his legal career, Mr. Parker founded and managed two of the leading international law firms in Taiwan. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the US-Taiwan Business Council in Washington, D.C. and is a former President of Taipei's American Chamber of Commerce. He is well known for his role in the formulation and implementation of the Taiwan Relations Act, the U.S. federal legislation governing relations with Taiwan, and as a co-founder of Taiwan's English language radio network, ICRT, which has more than a million listeners. He has served on the boards of directors of numerous educational and business organizations in the U.S. and Taiwan, including the board of Taiwan's largest private university.
